Kelsey Gerckens is an American Meteorologist working with KEYT/News Channel 3-12 where she serves the station as a Chief Meteorologist forecasting the Evening News at 5, 6, 6:30, and 11 PM. She has been working with KEYT News since the year 2010.

Kelsey graduated from Cal Poly with a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Psychology. In 2020, she graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology.

Gerckens works with KEYT News where she serves the station as a Chief Meteorologist and Evening Weather forecaster. She has previously spent several years working as a reporter for News Channel 3. Asides from this, she switched to weather full-time after finding that her favorite stories to cover were always weather-related.
Being a third-generation Venturan, she is happy to be working and reporting on stories that matter to her community. Being a reporter, she reported living out in the field covering everything from the Solimar Fire and Camarillo Springs debris flow to Presidential visits and even had the honor of flying with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels.
Gerckens has also been honored with two Golden Mike Awards for Best Weather Segment. Asides from this, she has also been nominated for an Emmy for Best Weather Anchor for her coverage of the Thomas Fire. This is in addition to receiving two regional Emmys for her work covering the Thomas Fire as well as the Refugio Oil Spill. Asides from this, she has also received an individual Golden Mike for Spot News Coverage of the Ventura Oil Spill.
She considers her biggest accomplishment winning the CBS reality show “The Amazing Race” with her husband, Joey. In the 21-day competition, she and Joey raced around the world against 10 other teams performing various challenges. She has been privileged to travel to 10 countries across five continents going more than 34,000 miles to win the race and a $1 million prize.
Her favorite thing to do is to travel the world with her husband. Away from work, she enjoys going to the beach with her Goldendoodle Jeter. Additionally, she loves checking out the amazing restaurants and events this beautiful place we call home has to offer.
