Kevin Hogan is an American Veteran Broadcast Journalist. He has been at the station since joining in 1973. The TV bug bit him in 1959 during a visit to the live studio of “Beat the Clock” in New York.

That’s when TV game show host Bud Collyer interviewed him in the audience about his missing front teeth. It was the first story he told on TV! Hogan attended Kolbe High School in Bridgeport and later graduated. His broadcast career began at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury on the campus radio station, WXCI-FM. Besides, he as well interned at WNEW-TV in New York City and “The Ten O’Clock News with Bill Jorgensen.

Hogan anchored mornings in New Haven on WELI-AM with veteran broadcaster Ron Rohmer in 1979. After a year, he became news director at WAVZ and WKCI (KC101) during which time he won several broadcast awards. In 1997, Channel 3 chose Hogan to take on the role of special correspondent to cover Pope John Paul II’s historic trip to Cuba.

Kevin became a permanent part of the Eyewitness News team after he returned. He says his career gives him an opportunity every day to meet people and report on stories that help communities. When he is not working, He enjoys family time along with his painstakingly restored 1959 MGA Roadster.
