Garcia works with NBC Bay Area where she serves the station as a Morning and Midday News Anchor. There, she anchors the morning news from 4:30 AM to 7 AM and Midday News from 11 AM -11:30 AM. She anchors the Today In the Bay Morning and Midday News alongside Marcus Washington. The multiple Emmy Award-Winning journalist kick-started her broadcasting career in San Francisco. this was prior to moving on to anchor and report in Fresno.
Prior to joining the NBC Bay Area News team, she was working in Phoenix, Arizona where she was serving as an anchor and Investigative Reporter. There, she was honored with The Associated Press Reporter of the Year Award along with multiple Emmy and AP Awards for writing and reporting. Among her fondest achievements was accepting an Emmy Award in San Francisco for best daytime broadcast. She was also recognized with a Best Daytime Newscast Award in the Bay Area Women in Radio and Television.
She is an avid participant in various organizations and is a proud member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. Asides from this, she also served on the Board of Trustees of her alma mater, Saint Mary’s College of California in Moraga. There, she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications and Government.
Asides from this, she serves on the Board of Directors for the American Cancer Society and the Board of the Catholic Professional Business Club. Away from work, she enjoys skiing, reading, spending time with family and friends, golfing, cooking, and snowshoeing, depending on the season.
