Kyle Rogers Biography

Kyle Rogers is an American anchor and assistant news director working at WHSV as the anchor of the 6 pm, 10 pm, and 11 pm newscast and assistant news director. He joined the WHSV-TV news team in 2016.

Prior to joining the WHSV team, he worked at CBS 21 News in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and at WFMZ-TV in Allentown, Pennsylvania where he served as a reporter. While he was in college, he worked at WIKZ-FM MIX95.1 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, and at WITF Public Media in Harrisburg as an on-air personality.

Winchester is Rogers’s native home and he was brought up in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania where he attended high school later in 2008, he joined the Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania where he studied communications and broadcast journalism till he graduated in 2012.

In addition, his first break in the journalism business was when he was 13 years old. He wrote an e-mail to the producer of Entertainment Tonight after he was a report on a new national newscast for teenagers and at the end, he hosted segments for the program throughout high school. Furthermore, he is actively involved in the community and he serves on the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Harrisonburg-Rockingham County Board of Directors.

He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance. Each year, he serves as the co-host of Top Chef: Harrisonburg which benefits Blue Ridge CASA for Children. Rogers also works for the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences where he serves as the Regional Vice President. During Kyle’s free time, he enjoys exploring the Shenandoah Valley.
