Harris previously lived in Jacksonville, Florida, where she worked as a multi-skilled journalist at First Coast News. She worked as a morning anchor, fill-in traffic anchor, and fill-in anchor at the station during her time there. In addition, she began her journalism career as a multi-media journalist in Columbia, South Carolina.
