Lance Ferguson Biography

Lance Ferguson is an American storm chaser working at KWCH 12 where he serves as a weekday and weekend storm chaser. He joined the KWCH 12 storm-chasing team in 2001.

Since he began working at kWCH 12, he has witnessed large and destructive tornadoes however, nothing compares to him like the Greensburg storm in 2007. He storm chases for two reasons including first assisting to warn and protect the General Public and secondly to gain experience of what Mother Nature can do. In addition, Lance experienced severe weather a number of times while growing up, and ever since he gained an interest in weather.

While he was a child, he can recall taking shelter in their basement when the Tornado sirens went off. He also had a close encounter while at a summer camp in which a tornado rolled by in the middle of the night. Furthermore, while he was in college, he watched a tornado crossing the highway in front of him as he drove to school in Western Kansas.
