Before joining FOX 29, Johnson was a weekend anchor for “Good Day Orlando” on WOFL-FOX 35, the FOX O&O in Orlando, Fla. She began her TV career at Central Florida News 13 in 2003. Johnson jumped behind the wheel and the camera in her role as a reporter to explore and capture popular attractions around the state in a franchise called “Florida on a Tankful.”
After four years, Johnson traded the fun in the sun for BBQ and blues and headed to Memphis, Tenn., as the health reporter. Various of her stories were nominated for Emmy awards. Shortly afterward, Johnson made the transition to the anchor desk and co-anchored Good Morning Memphis.
Johnson was born and bred in Atlanta prior to heading to Greenville, S.C., for college at Furman University. While schooling for her Communication Studies degree, she as well hitting the track, did laps, and competed as a member of the women’s track and field team. To learn more about the television industry, she finished internships in several top markets including, Greenville, S.C., Atlanta, and New York.
