Rautenkranz works with First Coast News where he serves the station as a Weekday Morning Meteorologist. The Floridian native loves calling Jacksonville home and everything that First Coast has to offer. She kick-started her forecasting career for her Alma Mater, the University of Florida, in Gainesville. Later on, her career took her to Wilmington, North Carolina before she returned to her home state to work at First Coast News.
Rautenkranz has been able to track everything from tornadoes to snow and ice to hurricanes. Her passion for weather and broadcasting began at a tender age, which is in alliance with her love for the outdoors and connecting with people. She also earned her NWA Seal of Approval and holds a Master of Science Degree in Applied Meteorology from Mississippi State University.
Lauren happens to be a proud alumna of the University of Florida where she obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Telecommunications News with a concentration in Meteorology. Additionally, she also obtained minors in Geography and Communications Studies.
She happens to have a youtube channel where she uploads science and weather videos while educating people on topics such as Hurricanes Season, and Wind Shear among others. Away from work, she is a proud mom and her free time is filled with lots of baby snuggles, trips to the beach with the “fur children”, and family boat rides.
