Marraco attended The University of Florida and double majored in Telecommunications and Political Science. Marina’s passion for politics grew while she covered the state senate coup in Albany.
She began her television career in college when in her junior year, she took a semester off and moved to New York City. While there, she interned and worked as a news assistant at NY1, the 24-hour local cable station. During the last semester at the University of Florida, the Haiti earthquake happened.

After college, Marina reported and anchored at Univision Orlando in Spanish. As a result, she interviewed former Florida Governor Charlie Crist and Senator Marco Rubio as they ran against each other in primaries. While still at the station it is when Casey Anthony went on trial for the murder of her 2-year-old daughter. She covered the trial gavel to gavel for Univision Network. She also made a coverage of the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa.
Marraco covered portions of the George Zimmerman trial after taking a job at WESH-TV. She also made a coverage of a sinkhole in Seffner that literally swallowed a man as he was sleeping.
