Marissa Armas is an American Reporter/Anchor working for CBS4 News/KCNC-TV in Denver, Colorado where she serves the station as a Reporter and MMJ. She has been working with the station since September 2021.

Armas attended Denver West High School where she graduated with her High School Diploma. Later on, she went on to join the Metropolitan State University of Denver where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree. Later on, she went on to join Columbia Journalism School where she obtained a master’s degree.

Prior to CBS4 News, she was working as a reporter in Albuquerque, New Mexico. There, she extensively covered the southern border, immigration, and communities of color. Asides from this, her work at the border got her a Rocky Mountain Southwest Emmy nomination. the year 2020 saw her being committed to covering the Navajo Nation and other indigenous communities as they endured the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Prior to her stint in New Mexico, she was a multimedia journalist who traveled the country covering the Latino community for NBC News Digital and NBC Latino. Her work has been shared on NBC Nightly News, other NBC platforms, and MSNBC. While working at NBC News, she has the opportunity to interview many big-name celebrities such as Lin-Manuel Miranda, Jesse Jackson, and Rosie Perez.
Asides from this, she has worked as a general assignment reporter in El Paso, Texas where she was covering the U.S.-Mexico border, Pope Francis’ visit to Juarez, and covered the primaries for the 2016 election. Prior to taking this TV route, she was working at prints and digital publications in Denver. Asides from this, she also spent a year studying abroad where she was working for a European magazine in Madrid.
She has a wide range of interests which include politics, education, social justice, multimedia, education, public policy, and culture. Away from work, she enjoys spending her free time hiking, dancing, trying new restaurants, spending time with her family, and traveling. She states that the reason she is a journalist is that she did not like the way news outlets covered her community and other marginalized groups. She states that being a journalist allows him to expose the injustices in the world, and highlight the positivity.
Among her most memorable interviews was interviewing Suzette and Selena Quintanilla’s sister. She further states that her dream interview is to have an interview with Snoop Dogg. Armas says that her dream job was to be an astronaut. Her favorite story on the hand was her all-border coverage.

On the other hand, her favorite word happens to be the tummy and her least favorite noise is yelling. She has recently been listening to reggae songs. Armas states that what keeps him in Colorado is her family and she is glad to be in Colorado with them. She states that if she was to play a movie, she would play Gina Rodriguez.
