Rick Sallinger is an American Reporter working for CBS4 News/KCNC-TV in Denver, Colorado where he serves the station as a News Reporter. He has been working with CBS4 News since the year 1993.

Sallinger works for CBS4 News where he serves the station as a News Reporter. He has been able to cover every major story in Colorado during this time. This includes the Columbine High School shootings, the murder of JonBenet Ramsey, the catastrophic Bryant case, the Oklahoma City bombing trials, the Aurora Theater massacre, and the Kobe Bryant case, among others.
His stories have appeared numerous times on the CBS Evening News, CBS Weekend News, CBS Sunday Morning, CBS This Morning, and The CBS Early Show. Through his Investigative reporting, she has received numerous commendations, which include the George Foster Peabody Award. This was considered one of broadcasting’s highest honors.
The Chicago native is a proud graduate of the University of Illinois where he obtained a master’s degree. The year 1990 saw him sign on to become a correspondent for CNN’s London bureau. This is the very day Iraq invaded Kuwait and within the next three years, he made five trips to Iraq, five to Jordan, and one to Kuwait. There, he spent two and a half months which include the entires first Gulf War, in Saudi Arabia. During his years working with CNN, he covered the reunification of Germany, the war in Yugoslavia, and other major events in Somalia, Paris, Northern Ireland, Geneva, Spain, Denmark, and Moscow.
When he left Denver in the year 1986 to pursue his career goals The Denver Post wrote that his ambition was to one day to return to Colorado. Rick has achieved that and is proud to call Colorado home. He states that his favorite story is about collecting and delivering shoes for Cambodians in refugee camps.
Asides from this, he states that the riskiest job he has taken is being a war correspondent in 3 wars. He made his television appearance in the year 1956 “Lunchtime Little Theater” WNBQ(now known as WMAQ-TV) in the audience. Sallinger states that the reason he is a journalist is that he gets to see much that she would not be able to see otherwise. He states that one word that best describes CBS4 News is friendly.
Away from work, she enjoys skiing and traveling and her favorite musicians are The Beatles. On the other hand, his favorite sports team is Chicago Cubs. Asides from this, he states that the mountains, the weather, and the job are what is keeping him in Colorado.
