Carroll works with KRCR Channel 7 News where he serves the station as a Multimedia Journalist since June 2021. She is a proud Lubbock, Texas native and was raised in Longhorn thanks to her mother’s influence. She is a proud graduate of The University of Texas at Austin where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism at the Moody College of Communication.
During her time at the University, she was also serving as a reporter/producer at TSTV, the nation’s only FCC-licensed student-run TV station. There, she worked for about three years. Asides from that, she also wrote for the Daily Texan, helped start an outdoor-focused student magazine, and mentored freshmen students.
Asides from school work, she has also served as an intern for the political and investigative team at KXAN News in Austin. This is in addition to working weekend morning shifts on the assignment desk. During her time in senior year, she went on to move to New York City in order to finish school and intern with the CBS Evening News research team.
She is a lover of college football, pecan pie, and West Texas sunsets, which come from her Texas native blood. However, she states that, unlike many Texans, she does not eat meat or enjoy sweet tea. Away from work, she enjoys hiking, spending time with her cat, Danny, named after Dan Rather, cooking, and weightlifting.
She states that she was drawn to Redding for its beautiful nature and warm-hearted people. Asides from this, she states that she is excited to be working as a reporter with KRCR and looks forward to making a positive impact on the community.
