Melissa Wilson is an American Emmy Award-winning anchor and reporter working for FOX26. She has been working for the station since September 2000.

Wilson serves as the morning anchor for FOX 26 Morning News on weekdays. In addition to this role, she is also a medical reporter for FOX26 where she visits the Texas Medical Center and follows patients and doctors through medical procedures. Prior to these two roles, she previously served as a co-anchor at FOX 26 News at 9 p.m. for about 10 years.

She went to Baylor University where she attained her Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications. Her journalism career started at KAUZ-TV in Wichita Falls where she served as the evening anchor. She, later on, left the station and started working for Florida’s News Channel where she served as an anchor. Wilson has also managed to win several awards and honors ever since she started her journalism career.

For instance, she was honored with the “Top 50 Most Influential Women in Houston” by Houston Woman Magazine. She was also nominated for “Personality of the Year” by American Women in Radio and Television. In addition to that, she was also nominated for the prestigious Lone Star Emmy Awards and “Gracie Awards”.

She was also tagged a “Living Legend” by The Fair Care Center of Houston and “Most Beautiful Reporters” by The Houston Press. Since 2000, she has been an active member and Honorary Co-Chair of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Furthermore, she has also been serving on their Advisory Board of Directors and assists in any way she could.

Wilson also serves on several Boards of Directors including Lazarus House, Harris County Community College Nurse’s Association, Children at Risk, “Gifts with Heart”, March of Dimes, and Baylor Business Network. She is also an active member of The Society of Professional Journalists as well as the Association of Health Care Journalists. Furthermore, she also volunteered and donated to the Christian Community Service Center

Wilson has also managed to interview several celebrities, personalities, and politicians all across the states and beyond. Some of them include Actors James Earl Jones, Lucy Liu, Walter Cronkite, Mexico’s President Vicente Fox, Nora Jones, Bill O’Reilly, Amy Grant, Rob Schneider, Andy McDowell, and Josh Groban. Wilson also held exclusive interviews with Presidents George HW Bush, and Jimmy Carter, and First Ladies Hillary Rodham Clinton, Tipper Gore, Barbara Bush, and Laura Bush.
