Mike Iscovitz is an American meteorologist working for FOX26. He has been working for the station since joining in September 2000.

Iscovitz serves as the Chief Meteorologist at FOX 26 News morning shows from 4 a.m. through 10 a.m. on “WakeUp! With Sally Mac and Lina” and “Houston’s Morning Show,” and the “FOX 26 News Noon.” In addition to these roles, he is also the host of a weekly Livestream on the station’s website and social platforms by the name “Mondays with Mike.” “Mondays with Mike” is a show where Iscovitz discusses several weather topics, from wildfire risks, unique cloud formations, and the threat of drought in Texas.
Ever since he started his journalism career, he has managed to enclose a ton of extreme weather events including tropical storms and life-threatening Hurricanes including deadly Tropical Storm Allison in 2001, Hurricane Nicolas and Harvey in 2017, and Texas’ Big Freeze when the power grid failed in 2021. He went to Florida State University where he graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in meteorology. In 2001, he attained the American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval. Furthermore, he was the 69th person in the United States to be recognized as an AMS-certified broadcast meteorologist.
Iscovitz started his career at WSVN-TV in Miami where he was a weather intern and later on as a student meteorologist at Florida State University. He then started working for KLFY-TV in Lafayette, La. in 1991 where he served as the weekend weather anchor. He soon after left the station and joined FOX26 in 2000 where he started off by serving as a meteorologist. Whenever he is not working, he enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends.

After graduating from Hillhouse High School in 1958, he enrolled in the United States Air Force.
Following his military service, he moved to Washington, DC, and started his long career with National Airlines. Irving lost his mother, Miriam Iscovitz, in 1967 and his father, Joseph in 1995 at the age of 88. Unfortunately, Irving passed away on 3rd December 2020.

Iscovitz’s father, Irving, was killed during his daily walk to a store in Southwest Houston. The then 80-year-old veteran lost his life as a result of an act of violence on 3rd December 2020. He was buried at National Cemetery for Veterans. According to the Houston Chronicle, Irving was stabbed to death. The murder suspect, Jakhari Jackson, was released on bond in February 2021.
