Nicholas Quallich Biography

Nicholas Quallich is an American Anchor /Host working with KX News where he was serving the station as an Evening co-anchor alongside Lauren Kalberer. Asides from co-anchoring, he was co-hosting Inside North Dakota Politics and has worked with the station since October 2019.

In 1999, he joined Padua Franciscan High School where he graduated with a diploma in 2003. Later on, he studied at Kent State University and at the Ohio Media School which was formerly known as the Ohio Center for Broadcasting where he earned a vocational certificate in broadcast journalism in 2013.

Quallich works with KX News where he serves the station as an evening co-anchor and a co-host. Prior to KX News, he was working with KFDX-TV in Cleveland, Ohio. He is originally a music major and found his passion for broadcasting in the marching band. Quallich served as the band’s public address announcer for two years and got a chance to announce in venues such as Lincoln Financial Field, First Energy Stadium, and Ohio Stadium to an audience of around 90,000 football fans.

After he had left KSU, he was working in retail for several years. However, with a desire to pursue an alternate career path, he thought back to his college days and gave broadcasting a try. The summer of the year 2014 saw him being asked to help start a brand new morning news program (FOX in the Morning) in Rochester, Minnesota.

There, he produced, reported, and anchored short stories five days a week for that program. Later on, after two and a half years, he returned to Ohio giving back to the place that gave him so much. He joined the faculty of the Ohio Media School and taught the media students of tomorrow all about news, video editing, and video cameras.

October of the year 2017 saw him being asked to head south to join Nexstar affiliate station KFDX & KJTL where he was working as a weekend anchor, host of Texoma Politics Now, and producer/reporter. During his time, in the Wichita Falls, Texas & Lawton, Oklahoma area where he was covering many topics such as Wichita Falls City Council, Lake Wichita Revitalization, and the controversial demolition of an old dog park and the construction of a new prairie dog park.

Working as a host of Texoma Politics Now, he was interviewed, among others, Sen. Ted Cruz, Rep. Beto ‘O Rourke, State Sen. Pat Fallon, and Meet the Press Moderator Chuck, Todd. The fall of the year 2019 saw him being named evening co-anchor, alongside Lauren Kalberer,
