Noah Bergren Biography
Noah Bergren is an American meteorologist working for WPSD-TV where he serves as a weeknight meteorologist at 5 pm, 6 pm, and 10 pm. He joined the Local 6 News team in August 2018, after previously working at WTAJ News in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and NBC Connecticut.
Central Connecticut is his native home and his interest in weather was ignited at a very tender age while he resided in the harsh winters and changeable summers that New England presents. While growing up, he experienced everything from tropical storms, to blizzards, and tornadoes. One of his most memorable storms was forecasting and living through the February 2013 historic blizzard when his hometown received more than 35 of snow in roughly one day.
In addition, he joined Penn State where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology. While he was at the University, he served as the head of communications for the Campus Weather Service which is the oldest and largest student-run forecasting and broadcasting organization in the country. While Bergren worked at the Campus Weather Service, he led the complete redesign of the Campus Weather Service’s broadcast graphics system and made appearances live on The Weather Channel for storm coverage in Central Pennsylvania.
Furthermore, he is a member of both the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society. Prior to joining WPSD Local 6, he was on-air in State College, Pennsylvania. Noah interned as a freelancer at NBC Connecticut and at WTAJ News in Altoona, Pennsylvania. During his leisure time, he enjoys playing golf, skiing, playing basketball, cheering the Penn State Nittany Lions, and watching sports.
