Shamarria Morrison Biography

Shamarria Morrison is an American multimedia journalist working at WCNC where she serves as a weekday and weekend reporter. She joined the WCNC team in November 2021, after previously working at Local 6 where she was a weekend anchor and multimedia journalist. 

In 2013, she joined Florida International University where she studied broadcast journalism and graduated in 2015. Later on, she studied radio and television at the University of Florida where she graduated in 2018. While she attended the University of Florida, she was the president of her college chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists. She worked at WCJB-TV, the ABC affiliate in Gainesville as an associate producer and a weekend photographer and she served on Saturdays at 6 and 10 and on Sundays at 5 and 10 as an anchor.

Furthermore, Shamarria loves volunteering especially with underrepresented and multicultural organizations. She is also an advocate reader and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated in addition to being devoted to Service to all Mankind. Morrison is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and during her spare time, she enjoys traveling as well as committing to seeing one new state every year.
