Paul Drewes Biography

Paul Drewes is an American reporter and meteorologist working for KITV4 as a weekday reporter and weekend evening meteorologist at 5 pm, 6 pm, and 10 pm. He joined KITV4 in November 2009, after previously working in Oregon where he was a news and sports reporter. 

Florida is Paul’s native home and he attended the University of Central Florida where he graduated with a degree in Radio and Television Broadcasting. Drewes has served as a broadcaster for more than 20 years, and he began his career in radio before relocating to Oregon where he served as a television news and sports reporter.

In the early 1990s, Paul relocated to Hilo before later working on the Big Island while covering news and sports for three years. Furthermore, he has been on Oahu for the last 15 years and while he was there, he worked on a number of television stations as a news anchor, reporter, and weather forecaster.

He is a surfer who enjoys the outdoors and covering the weather seemed like a natural fit for him. After Paul completed the Certified Broadcast Meteorology Program at Mississippi State University, he earned his television seal of approval from the American Meteorological Society. During his spare time, he enjoys spending ample time with his family who also shares his love of the water.
