Tom George Biography

Tom George is an American anchor and reporter working for KITV4 as the weekday evening co-anchor of the 9 pm newscast alongside Marisa Yamane a position he took up on June 1, 2022. He joined KITV4 in April 2019, as the weekend anchor of Good Morning Hawaii and reporter throughout the week.

Tom attended schools in Barcelona, Spain and he is eloquent in Spanish. In 2008, George joined the University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in broadcast journalism, Spanish language, and cultures in 2012. While he was at the University, he worked for KOKH in Oklahoma City as a reporter and for the WMAZ in Macon, Georgia. In addition, Tom also interned for the Washington bureau of NBC News and WRC-TV in Washington, D.C. His coverage of  CNS-TV and the University of Maryland gained national recognition.

Before he joined KITV4 he worked at KTNV, the ABC affiliate in Las Vegas he worked where he served as an anchor and reporter residing on the 9th Island. George also worked everywhere from the field to the anchor desk, to flying in the news chopper. He was also among the 2017 team that reported on the mass shooting on the Las Vegas Strip that took place that year.
