Phylicia Ashley is an American reporter, multimedia journalist, and anchor currently working at WAVE 3 Chappaqua, New York. Ashley joined in September 2018serving as a fill-in anchor and reporter. She was previously working at WJFW Newswatch 12 as a news anchor.

Ashley was a devoted dancer prior to discovering her passion for journalism. She used to train at schools like Harlem School of the Arts, Broadway Dance Center, and legendary Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre for about about 13 years.
She is a proud graduate of New York University where she earned a degree in broadcast journalism and sociology. In the course of her time in college, she began programs in the Academic Achievement Program to assist minority students to excel in academics.
Ashley is a Shwan Carter Scholar and a New York University. In the course of her time in college, she interned with the Tom Brokaw Reports, CNN, CNBC and NYU fellowship as well as the TODAY Show, NBC-Dateline
She was working as an anchor and reporter at the NBC affiliate in Rhinelander, Wisconsin prior to joining WAVE 3 News. Ashley is also an ally of the National Association of Black Journalists and a fervid glutton with an intense passion for travelling.
During her leisure time, she mostly likes watching “Martin” re-runs as well as gripping her favorite shows like Shameless, Order SVU, This is Us, as well as Power.
She likes linking with the community as well as looking forward to setting up herself as a journalist in Louisville.
