Rachel Hackbarth is an American anchor working at KWCH 12 where she serves as a weekday evening anchor alongside Michael Schwanke and Jacob Albracht. She joined KWCH 12 in May 2021, after previously working at KETK/FOX 51.
She began her career in her hometown of Tyler, Texas where she worked at KETK/FOX 51 as a morning anchor and multimedia journalist. Hackbarth first visited FOX 51 as a guest on the morning show known as FOX 51 Today, where she spoke about her upcoming competition as Miss Texas USA. In less than a year, she found herself working at the very same station on the same morning show. In addition, she relocated to New Mexico in 2015, where she worked at KOB in Albuquerque as a morning and noon anchor
Furthermore, Rachel headed back to Texas where she worked at CBS 11 in Dallas as a general assignment reporter covering stories such as the Atlanta airport power outages and the deadly 2018 Dallas natural gas explosion. In addition, she is passionate about animals and is also an advocate for them. While she worked at KETK in Tyler, she began a weekly animal adoption segment and she did investigations on the growing animal abuse in East Texas. Hackbarth still works with animal rescues even while she is in Albuquerque and she expanded her adoption outreach segments during the noon newscast she anchored. During her downtime, she enjoys volunteering at an animal shelter, working on her next arts and crafts project, and walking her senior Shih Tzu, Tiny Dog.
