Rachel Hackbarth is an American journalist working for KWCH 12 as the primary anchor for the 5, 6, 9, and 10 p.m. newscasts since joining the station in May 2021. Previously, she worked for KETK NBC & FOX51 News in Tyler, Texas, for nearly 4 years.

Hackbarth began her career in her hometown of Tyler, Texas, where she worked at KETK/FOX 51 as a morning anchor and multimedia journalist. She first visited FOX 51 as a guest on the morning show known as FOX 51 Today, where she spoke about her upcoming competition as Miss Texas USA. In less than a year, she found herself working at the very same station on the same morning show. She later relocated to New Mexico in 2015, where she worked at KOB in Albuquerque as a morning and noon anchor

Following her time in Albuquerque, Hackbarth headed back to Texas, where she worked at CBS 11 in Dallas as a general assignment reporter. There, she covered stories such as the Atlanta airport power outages and the fatal 2018 Dallas natural gas explosion.

After working in Dallas, Hackbarth returned to KETK NBC & FOX51 News in Tyler, Texas, where she worked for nearly 4 years, from September 2020 to July 2022. She started her second stint as a freelance reporter and was later promoted to freelance anchor and reporter.

Hackbarth is passionate about animals and is also an advocate for them. During her time at KETK in Tyler, she began a weekly animal adoption segment, and investigated the growing animal abuse in East Texas. She still worked with animal rescues even in Albuquerque, and expanded her adoption outreach segments during the noon newscast she anchored. She continues to volunteer at local animal shelters during her free time.

He asked Rachel out on a date to a Longview trampoline park after a little more than six months of working together.

On their first date, Rachel broke her ankle and had to wear an ankle boot for six weeks. Out of guilt, Kyle continued to date Rachel, and the rest is history. During her downtime, she enjoys volunteering at an animal shelter, working on her next arts and crafts project, and walking her dog.
