Rich Nye is an American journalist working for WTHR as a news reporter since July 2017 and occasionally broadcasts sports. He joined the station in August 1994 as a sports reporter and has served the station for more than 2 decades. Previously, he worked for WALV 27 Alive(now SkyTrak Weather) as a sports anchor.

During his sports career, he has broadcasted diverse stories including three Super Bowls, the 2016 Kokomo tornadoes, multiple Final Fours, Mike Tyson’s rape case, and big annual occasions in Indianapolis. Despite this, his favorite stories are those of people who love special success or surpass special challenges.
Nye has received recognition from organizations like the Society of Professional Journalists and the Radio & Television News Director Association for his reporting work. Further, he won a regional Emmy award for sports reporting.
