Rick Coleman Biography
Rick Coleman is an American anchor and reporter working for KWWL as the sports director anchoring KWWL’s Friday Night Heroes, SportsPlus, and Athlete of the Week programs. He joined KWWL in September 1991, as a sports anchor and reporter.
Waterloo is his native home and while growing up, he would watch KWWL-TV. Since his childhood days, he has always been a sports junkie and a number of his early idols were; Brent Musberger, Dan Rather, KWWL’s Ron Steele, Bryant Gumbel, and Max Robinson. He started working part-time for KWWL-TV and radio while in high school and he became the first McElroy Trust intern in 1981.
Later on, he joined the University of Iowa where he graduated with a degree in Communications Studies in 1986. After Coleman had graduated, he started his career at KWWL, where he served as a general assignment news reporter. Whenever he finds time, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing tennis
