Further, he has broadcasted some big national news stories including the 2015 Grand Theatre Shooting in Lafayette and the 2009 Crash of Continental Flight 3407 in Buffalo. In 2006, he broadcasted the pursuit and arrest of escaped fugitive Ralph “Bucky” Phillips in New York state.
Macko also broadcasted the fatal shooting of a middle school teacher at a school dance in Edinboro, Pennsylvania in 1998.
