The National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association chose him as the Pennsylvania Sportscaster of the Year in 2015. He won an Edward R. Murrow Award for his report on the current owner of the original manuscript of Martin Luther King Jr’s “I Have A Dream.” He is privileged to gain the award because he wanted to be a public speaker after he was crowned Homecoming King in high school for his rendition of Dr. King’s famous speech.

Burke kickstarted his TV career at WHSV in Harrisonburg, Virginia. During his career, he has broadcasted various events such as NBA Finals, the Stanley Cup Playoffs, The Winter Olympics, Super Bowls, and World Series.
