Sade Baderinwa is an American anchor working at WABC-TV where she served as the anchor of the 5 and 11 newscasts. She joined the WABC-TV team in 2003, as a reporter and anchor for the noon newscast.
Prior to joining WABC-TV, she worked at WBAL-TV in Baltimore where she served as a morning and noon anchor and the host of the weekly community affairs show. Before joining WBAL-TV, she worked at WSLS in Roanoke, Virginia where she was a reporter, and WUSA-TV in Washington, D.C. as a reporter trainee, and at ABC News where she served as a production assistant for This Week with David Brinkley, ABC News NewsOne, World News Tonight, and Nightline.
She strongly believes in giving back to her community and she has worked with community leaders, many Tri-State area organizations, and students. In addition, Sade put efforts to deal with the growing problem of hit-and-run accidents after she was struck by a hit-and-run driver while she covered a story for Eyewitness News. Her efforts for Traffic Safety were recognized with the NJ Governor’s Representative Award.
In addition, she created and developed a successful mentoring program known as Get ‘Reel’ With Your Dreams: The Inside Track, which exposes high school students from Connecticut and New York, New Jersey to top professionals in film and television. She has partnered with; New York Women in Film and Television, WABC-TV, The Walt Disney Company, and Lincoln Center Institute. Baltimore is her native home and she attended the University of Maryland, College Park.
