Sam Ryan is an American Emmy-award-winning sports anchor/reporter working at WABC-TV where she serves as a weekend sports anchor and reporter. She joined WABC- TV in 2018.  

From 2002 to 2003, she worked at WABC where she served as a weekend morning sports anchor and reporter before she later moved to ESPN where she served as a full-time sideline reporter. While she worked at ABC Sports and ESPN, she covered numerous national sporting events such as Stanley Cup Playoffs, Home Run Derby, the 2005 Monday Night Football broadcasts, Sunday Night Baseball, College Football,   NHL on ABC, and Little League World Series.

Later on, she worked at CBS Sports where she was a contributor to the station’s coverage of The NFL and the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship. Ryan also worked at the MLB Network where she served as a studio host and reporter who also served as the in-game reporter from 2015 to 2017 covering the MLB postseason for Turner Sports.  She also co-anchors ABC-7’s NYC Marathon Coverage and Marathon Sunday, alongside Ryan Field. Furthermore, she is an avid runner and over the years, she has completed ten marathons, inclusive of four NYC Marathons. Ryan is also passionate about promoting youth fitness as she is an NYRR Team for Kids Ambassador.
