Talitha Vickers Biography

Talitha Vickers is an American anchor/reporter who is best known for her time at WXII 12 where she served as an evening news anchor. She joined the station in 2013, and later in March 2022, she left the station. In her departure, she stated that she left the station to spend more time with her family.

Talitha began her career behind the camera as a field producer, producer, editor, and photojournalist. Before settling in the Piedmont Triad, she worked in New York, Maryland, Charlotte, and Orlando. In addition, she has won numerous awards over the course of her career, including an Associated Press Award for spot news coverage, the 2020 Outstanding Women Leaders Award presented by the late Winston Salem Mayor Pro-tem Vivian Burke and the city of Winston Salem, the 2019 Winston Under 40 Leadership Award, and Monmouth University’s Rebecca Stafford Award for Excellence in Leadership.

She has covered prominent political elections, the Casey Anthony trial, and the George Zimmerman trial during her tenure as a TV journalist. Talitha’s DNA also includes community involvement. Inspired by the legendary Dr. Maya Angelou, Talitha formed a committee to create the first Dr. Maya Angelou Day of Reading in Winston-Salem, which resulted in a proclamation from Mayor Alan Joines, incorporation within Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools, and national recognition. Talitha has also written a children’s book, “Why My Hero Had to Go,” on the courage, inclusion, diversity, generosity, and love that military families inspire.
