Bill Meck Biography
Bill Meck is an American meteorologist working for WLEX 18 as the chief meteorologist. Previously, he worked as a weekend meteorologist at WTHR-TV in Indianapolis.

Meck works for WLEX 18 as the chief meteorologist. He has incorporated humor, education, and accuracy to deliver the weather to Kentuckians since before the turn of the century. During this time, he has seen more than 100,000 Kentucky kids with his Bill’s Weather 101 program, where he simplifies the science of meteorology, making it fun for the students to understand.
Meck started dreaming of being a TV weather guy when he was 6 years old. He still has the books that he displays at each Bill’s Weather 101s to prove it. That dream became a reality at the age of 20 when he went on the air as a morning and weekend weatherman for WOI-TV in Des Moines. After graduating from college, he relocated to Spartanburg, South Carolina. He also worked in Indianapolis and Roanoke before he found his way to Lexington.
Meck speaks to numerous clubs and service organizations throughout the year. Also, he sits on the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army and chairs the annual LemonAid Days. He has served as the master of ceremonies at many events, such as Lakeside Live, the Lexington Music Awards, the Kentucky Rose of Tralee, fundraisers, and multiple galas.
Meck has been a featured reader with the Lexington Philharmonic and served as the voice of the Man O War Swim conference in Lexington for more than ten years. Moreover, he was the PA announcer for Lexington Catholic soccer for 4 years, while his daughter, Olivia, played. He has worked on local and national committees on severe weather safety.
