Bill Weir Biography

Bill Weir is an American award-winning anchor, correspondent, and host working at CNN serving as an anchor and correspondent. He has been working at the network since joining in 2013.

Weir went to Victory Christian High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he attained his high school diploma. He later joined Oral Roberts University before moving to Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, where he attained his degree in journalism and creative writing.

He also went to Afghanistan and Iraq to cover the wars as well as reported Live from Tibet.

As an anchor and writer, he produced several special hours for ABC prime time and CNN on topics ranging from brain science, religion, and Woodstock as well as the rise and fall of General Motors. Prior to joining ABC News, he worked at the FX and USA Networks where he served as a host. Prior to that, he worked in Austin, MN, Los Angeles, and Chicago, Green Bay where he served as a reporter/anchor.
