Briana Collier is an American journalist who serves as an anchor/reporter at WRDW. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in arts from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, where she was a Saluki. Briana minored in speech communication while majoring in radio-television and digital media.
Briana Collier Career
She started her career in radio at iHeartMedia in Chicago, where she worked with various radio and DJ icons. Collier then worked as a multimedia journalist and fill-in anchor at WHBF-TV/KLJB in the Quad Cities for two years. She reported on tornadoes, snowstorms, and her first polar vortex on both sides of the Mississippi River in Illinois and Iowa. Collier also had the chance to speak with a number of state, municipal, and federal officials, including current Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker and former Ambassador to China Terry Branstad.
Briana traded in her ski boots and ditched the freezing weather for the beach, making her way to the hostess city of Savannah, where she fell in love with the peach state’s southern hospitality and gourmet food while being only a few hours away from home.
She spent two years at WTOC-TV as a weekend morning anchor and reporter, when she was nominated for an Emmy for team coverage of an official memorial. Collier reported from Georgia and the low region of South Carolina, including her first hurricane, Dorian. She also covered the historic Senate runoff election, as well as scores more protests.
Briana, a former basketball player, enjoys coaching when she is not on TV enlightening people, and displaying a little personality. In both the Quad Cities and Savannah, she had the opportunity to coach high school and middle school, females.
Briana is delighted to call Augusta and the CSRA home and immerse herself in the culture and see all the region has to offer. She enjoys visiting new places, cuddling with her Cavapoo puppy Bentley, and going to a local gym for a pickup basketball game. She also enjoys meeting new people, so stop and say hello if you see her out and about! Every morning from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m., and at 12 p.m., you may watch her anchoring.
