Brittney Ermon is an American journalist who serves as a news reporter at KSTP-TV in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States.
She is also a teaching specialist at the Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication – University of Minnesota.
Brittney Ermon Education
Ermon attended Homewood-Flossmoor High School from 2008 to 2013. In high school, she was associated with Viking Television as station manager, anchor, and reporter for Poms Dance Team. Ermon joined Homewood-Flossmoor Viking Broadcasting as a class on her schedule but it finally became her passion. She anchored the daily VTV newscast. She also produced news and feature stories on the H-F community. in her junior year in high school, Ermon already knew that she wanted to do journalism for the rest of her life.
Ermon then attended Ball State University from 2013 to 2017. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree with cum laude honors majoring in Journalism, Telecommunications, and Spanish.
Ermon also studied abroad in Segovia, Spain in 2017 for three months since she did not want a language barrier to prevent her from serving all communities. In 2019, she earned a Master of Arts degree in Journalism from Ball State University.

Ermon started her broadcasting career in June 2019 as a bilingual news reporter and multi-media journalist for WMTV NBC 15 in Madison, Wisconsin Area. During her time there, she reported daily on the unrest in Madison as social justice protests swept the nation following the death of George Floyd. Ermon also traveled to Cedar Rapids, Iowa to report on the aftermath of the Derecho storm. She also covered the coronavirus, riots, elections, and health disparities in minority communities.
Ermon joined KSTP TV – Channel 5 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States as a television news reporter in July 2021. In January 2023, she became a teaching specialist at Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication – University of Minnesota. Ermon has won an Emmy award for her contributions to the NBC15 Morning Show, reporting on the aftermath of George Floyd protests in Madison, WI. She was also awarded a regional Edward R. Murrow for morning newscast coverage.
