Dakota Watson Biography
Dakota Watson is an American journalist who joined the WRDW and WAGT team in September 2019 as a Morning executive producer/anchor. He is from Columbia, South Carolina, and graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism in December 2017 from the University of South Carolina.
Dakota worked for the university’s daily news shows as a reporter, anchor, producer, and director while at USC. Dakota worked for KPLC TV in Lake Charles, Louisiana, as a morning anchor, reporter, and producer before joining News 12. He’s also worked in sports radio and as a play-by-play announcer for high school football and baseball. Dakota and his fiancée are looking forward to being closer to family and exploring the CSRA.
Dakota’s interests outside of the news include his faith, athletics, travel, and spending time with his family and friends.
