Dan likes telling stories that assist victims of violent crimes in holding those in power accountable and the more bizarre stories are known to spark a conversation. Previously, he worked at WCHS-TV in Charleston, West Virginia where he served as a weekday morning anchor and reporter. His journalism career began in 2010, at WOWK-TV in Huntington, West Virginia where he served as a reporter and producer at the same time, he also attended Marshall University.
Matics’ most memorable stories include; the covering of hurricanes and tornadoes, the Seminole Heights serial killer, a chemical spill that contaminated the water supply for 300,000 people in West Virginia and exposed the negligence of a Southern West Virginia health clinic that infected patients by reusing needles. During his leisure time, he can be found on the beach or on a boat as he enjoys exploring the beauty of West Central Florida, golfing, and exploring the wonderful restaurants of Tampa Bay.
