Daniella Hankey is an American Anchor and Reporter working for WECT-TV serving as an evening anchor and traffic reporter. Before joining WECT-TV, Daniella worked for Kfdx Channel 3 as a morning news anchor in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Daniella Hankey Education
Hankey attended Hagerty High School in 2009 where she graduated with a diploma in 2013. During her time at high school, she worked for the station newscast as a morning news anchor from August 2011 to May 2013. Daniella also trained other employees as well as covered the high school news. Later on, she joined Stetson University where she attained a Bachelor’s degree in Mass studies, Education, and Communication in 2007.
While at the University, Hankey worked as a homecoming committee serving the station from January 2015 to November 2015. She also came up with tailgate carnival plans and worked with various companies and vendors. In January 2015, hankey secured a position as a focus leader at Stetson University. On top of that, she also led a group of 20 students and assisted students in adjusting to the transition into college.

Hankey serves as a traffic reporter and evening anchor at 4, 7, and 10 pm on WECT News. She has been with the station for two years since she joined in January 2022. Before joining WECT-TV, Daniella worked as a morning news anchor at Kfdx Channel 3 in Wichita Falls, Texas. While there, she was in charge of producing noon newscasts and providing severe weather coverage. She also anchored the noon and morning newscasts as well as covered the Presidential Election in 2020.
Previously, Hankey worked for WOAY-TV in Beckley, where she served as a news anchor from August 2017 to November 2018. She also worked as a weekend anchor before later being promoted to morning anchor. Besides this, Daniella also covered local, state, and national events as well as wrote stories and conducted interviews. Prior to working at WOAY-TV, she worked as a PBS production intern at WUCF-TV. During her time at WUCF-TV, she edited videos, shot different footage, and created a series called Metro Center Outlook.
Before joining WUCF-TV, Daniella served as a news reporter and anchor at WHNN- Hatter News Network from January 2015 to May 2017. While there, she anchored weekly news and covered stories on camera. Before working at WHNN, Daniella worked for Bright House Sports Network as a sports reporter from November 2013 to January 2017. At Bright House, she covered live sports news as well as worked with a Sony camera.
She began her professional career as a news member and bid day coordinator at Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity. While there, Daniella assisted new members to feel comfortable in the sorority as well as assisted with weekly assignments. Before joining Zeta, she worked as a varsity reporter at Bright House Sports Network working there from August 2012 to May 2013. Apart from working as a journalist, Hankey served as a developer and social media personality at Aspire Health Partners from May 2016 to May 2017.
