Dia Davidson Biography
Dia Davidson is an American anchor/reporter working at LEX 18 where she serves as a morning and noon anchor. She joined the LEX 18 news team in December of 2000, as a noon anchor.
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is her native home and she attended Temple University where she graduated with a Master of Journalism before later studying at the University of Georgia where she earned a Bachelor of Arts. Over the years, he has gained experience while serving as a Promotions Manager at WJJZ-FM Philadelphia, an anchor/reporter at South Carolina Educational Television in Columbia, an anchor/reporter at WXLV-TV in Winston-Salem, an adjunct instructor at North Carolina A&T State University, an anchor/reporter at WIS News Radio 1320 in Columbia, an Instructor for Morris College, an anchor/reporter at WOLO-TV in Columbia, an adjunct instructor at the University of Kentucky, and as a membership coordinator for Temple University Public Radio.
Over the years, she has been a recipient of numerous awards and recognitions including; the 2003 YMCA Black Achiever, 2000 Community Service Image Award, 2002 Emmy Nominee for Anchoring, 2004 Lexington-Fayette Urban County Division of Police – Certificate of Appreciation Award for Community Support, 1998 National Education Association Award for Advancement of Education through Broadcasting, 2001 Kentucky Personnel Cabinet Service Appreciation Award, and 2002 Kentucky Special Needs Adoption program. In addition, she has spent her time collecting international dolls, learning foreign languages, and traveling.
Dia also enjoys being involved in the community where she serves as a Board Member for the YMCA Black Achievers, and a Board Member for Special Needs Adoption. She also served as a panelist at the Lexington Mayoral debates, and as a speaker at the 2002 University of Kentucky Women in Media. A number of private and public grade schools and universities, she has served as grade schools and universities.
