Eric Mayer is an American Reporter working with KELOLAND-TV where he serves the station as a Digital Reporter and was previously a Sports Reporter for The Daily Public. He joined KELOLAND-TV in May 2018.

Mayer works with KELOLAND Media Group where he serves the station as a Digital Reporter since May 2018. Prior to joining KELOLAND, he was working with the Daily Republic as a Sports Reporter where he worked for about four years. The year 2016 saw him win an award for best sports reporting for daily newspapers under 12,000 circulations from the South Dakota Newspapers Association.
While he was working at KELOLAND, he began his career as a morning Web Producer and also transitioned to a Digital Reporter in January 2021. He has also been part of back-to-back regional Edward R. Murrow award-winning teams for KELOLAND.com in the years 2020 and 2021.
In her short time with KELOLAND, he has been a part of some big stories such as droughts, floods, elections, the COVID-19 pandemic, and Presidential visits. He says that he strives to keep KELOLAND.com one of the best places to get local news.
The Aberdeen native, Mayer, is a Washington High School graduate and attended the University of South Dakota. Away from work, he enjoys spending time with his family and is a big sports fan, especially soccer and baseball. As a result of growing up in South Dakota, he loves the outdoors especially grilling, fishing, and pheasant hunting.
