Hala Gorani is an American anchor and correspondent who previously worked at CNN. She has been working at the station since joining in 1998 till her April 2022 departure.

Gorani previously served as a correspondent as well as an anchor at CNN International based in London. In this role, he is in charge of anchoring The World Right Now with Hala Gorani which airs at 15.00 ET / 20.00 GMT. Due to enclosing gay life in the Middle East, she received a nomination for a Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) award.
Gorani has also made reports from different corners of the world including the Palestinian territories, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Jordan, and Egypt. She enclosed the Israel-Hezbollah conflict in 200 which earned the network an Edward R. Murrow Award. She also presented a special one-hour-long program by the name of ‘The Middle East Challenge’ that took a thought-provoking and insightful look into the problems and promises facing the Middle East.
Gorani also served as the moderator of the closing session of the 2008 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. In this role, she talked to several political and business leaders including Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Elie Wiesel, Tony Blair, and JP Morgan Chase & Co. Chairman and CEO James Dimon.
