Jackie Pascale is an American anchor and reporter at WXII 12 News at Hearst Television. She joined the WXII 12 News in December 2020.
Jackie Pascale Career
Jackie works for WPTZ in Burlington, Vermont, which is owned by Hearst. She addressed a variety of topics there, including racial injustice and winter storms, as well as trying new Ben & Jerry’s ice cream flavors on live TV with the company’s CEO. Jackie is well known for training for her first marathon and running the 26.2 kilometers on live television. Jackie has spent a lot of time in the Carolinas. She earned a journalism degree from Elon University. Jackie, a native of Philadelphia, spent her undergraduate summers interning for local stations such as 69 News and NBC10 Philadelphia. Jackie enjoys exploring new routes to hike, running paths to explore, and new dishes to try when she is not working.
WSJS-TV is North Carolina’s third-oldest surviving television station, after WBTV and WFMY-TV, channel 12’s Greensboro market rival. Piedmont Publishing, publishers of the Winston-Salem Journal and Twin City Sentinel, and Hollywood star Mary Pickford and her husband Charles “Buddy” Rogers were the inaugural owners of the station. It has always had a relationship with NBC. In 1983, Pulitzer Media exchanged WXII and WFBC-TV (now WYFF) in Greenville, South Carolina, for KSDK in St. Louis. Hearst-Argyle Television, now Hearst Television, bought Pulitzer’s full broadcasting division in 1998.
Hearst had a carriage dispute with Time Warner Cable on July 9, 2012, which resulted in the station being temporarily replaced by WBRE-TV from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. The issue persisted until Hearst and Time Warner struck a new carriage agreement on July 19, 2012.
