Jamie Holmes Biography
Jamie Holmes is an American former anchor/reporter known for having worked for WFTV from January 2011 to June 2021. There he co-anchored the Eyewitness News This Morning, alongside Nancy Alvarez. He left the station to open Top Story Studios in Orlando, Florida, which has been on since July 2022.
Holmes began his career when he was at his 15 years of age. He began working in a newsroom, bringing coffee for anchors and writing copy at the old CBS affiliate in Fort Pierce, Florida. One day, a drug deal went down in the station parking lot. He and the photographer chased down the suspects in the woods behind the station. That was the time that he knew he was hooked.
His first employment after graduating from the University of Florida was at WSLS in Roanoke, Virginia. He then moved to South Florida to work for WPTV in West Palm Beach for more than 10 years. While working there, he covered the anthrax attacks, more hurricanes, and the 2000 presidential debacle.
