Jannay Towne Biography
Jannay Towne is a Korean-born American anchor and reporter working for WHO – 13 News and KDSM as the co-anchor of the weekday morning newscast, Today in Iowa a position she took up in January 2012. She joined Channel 13 in April 2005, as the 5 pm, 5 pm, and 10 pm anchor. She also anchors the 9 pm newscasts on 13 News, which also airs on KDSM – the 2 stations share service agreements.
Towne studied at the University of Montana where she earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism. Prior to relocation to Lowa, she worked and resided in Great Falls, Montana where she served as the main anchor. While she worked in Great Falls, Montana, she received a journalism award for a special report she did as a field anchor during a visit by President Bush.
In addition, she is still connected to central Iowa and as of the moment, she reads to kids every Thursday via the Everybody Wins mentoring program at Monroe Elementary School. Towne is also involved in The Pet Project Midwest which assists the Iowan people to keep their beloved pets at home and out of local shelters through its Pet Pantry. During her spare time, she enjoys going on vacations, and on regular occasions, she visits her family in Las Vegas.
