John Shumway is an American journalist working for KDKA CBS Pittsburgh as an anchor The KDKA Morning News on Pittsburgh’s CW. Also, he updates people on the traffic. He joined the station in October 1988 as a general assignment reporter.

During the years at KDKA-TV, he has anchored the morning and weekend news and was featured as a general assignment reporter on the station’s 4, 5, and 6 pm newscasts. He earned a feature on KDKA-AM where he co-hosted the KDKA Morning News with Larry Richert and Shelly Duffy until he left in April 2020.
After graduating from college, he began his news career in the WLAP Radio newsroom. Next, he moved to WHAS Radio News in Louisville, Kentucky in 1979 where he switched over to WHAS-TV News as a Reporter for two years. He began his broadcasting career in Lexington, Kentucky as a disc jockey for WLAP Radio. Throughout his broadcasting career, Shumway has received recognition regionally, statewide, and nationally for his journalism. He has thus received two Emmy Awards and a Columbia DuPont Citation.
