Ray serves as an anchor of the morning newscast at Eyewitness News This Morning on Saturdays and Sundays. In addition to this role, she also serves as an investigative reporter for the 9 Investigates unit. She previously worked for Waterman Broadcasting Corp where she served as an investigative reporter as well as fill-in-anchor from August 2011 to October 2010.
Prior to that, she worked for KELO-TV where she served as a reporter and fill-in-anchor from May 2007 to April 2010. During her tenure here, she enclosed 19 counties spanning two time zones for about 2 years. She interned at KSAZ-TV Phoenix, Arizona from May 2006 to September 2006.
Since she started her journalism career, she has managed to enclose several events and stories that hit the headlines all across the states and beyond. For instance, she enclosed a billing dispute that may have led to a man’s death which led to changes at Naples Community Health. During the 2012 legislative session in Tallahassee, she covered the story of Aaron Edwards.
Due to this coverage, she earned an Emmy Nomination in 2012 and a regional Edward R. Murrow award in 2013. Ray went to the University of South Dakota where she attained her Bachelor’s degree in Contemporary Media and Journalism in 2008. Whenever she is not working, she enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends.
