Kristen Kirchhaine is an American certified Meteorologist working as a weekend evening on TMJ4 News and weekday reporter. Kirchhaine joined Storm Team 4 in April 2020.

She attended the University of Arkansas in Little Rock. Kristen earned a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism. Kristen decided to pursue a career in meteorology after an internship in radio and then television weather forecasting. She went on to Mississippi State University’s Broadcast Meteorology Program to further her knowledge. She earned her Broadcast Meteorology Certification from Mississippi State University, as well as a second Bachelor’s degree in Geosciences. Kirchhaine is also a National Weather Association Seal of Approval holder.

Kristen serves at TMJ4 as a weekend evening anchor and weekday reporter. She worked as a fill-in meteorologist at WMAQ in Chicago before joining TMJ4 and working full-time as a video and social media producer for a non-profit organization. During this period, Kristen felt compelled to return to full-time forecasting. She is overjoyed at the prospect of forecasting the crazy weather of Southeast Wisconsin.
She has worked as a meteorologist at WBBH in Fort Myers, Florida, for three years. She enjoyed tracking afternoon thunderstorms and tropical weather during her time there. Kristen’s profession in meteorology and broadcasting has taken her all around the United States.
Kristen had the opportunity to fly with the Hurricane Hunters during Hurricane Hermine’s development in 2016. Kirchhaine and her colleagues tracked Hurricane Irma as it approached landfall in Southwest Florida in 2017. She worked as the Chief Meteorologist at WFFT in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and as the Chief Forecaster at KULR in Billings, Montana, earlier in her career.
