Leigh Moody is an American journalist working for KSPR as an anchor of KY3 News @11 and KY3 News @ 4 on KSPR. She joined the station in November 2010 and has served the station for over a decade. Previously, she worked for Bay News 9 as a news anchor for nearly a decade.

Moody joined the University of Central Florida in 1990 when she finished her high school education. In 1994, she graduated with a Bachelor Of Arts degree in Radio, TV, and Broadcasting.

Moody has a passion for animal rescue and developed Leigh’s Lost and Found TV feature and Facebook page in March 2012 to assist in reuniting lost pets in the Ozarks. In collaboration with Springfield Animal Control, she features lost animals weekly on the news.
Moody also manages Leigh’s Lost and Found Facebook page which averages 400-500 successful monthly reunions. Since its launch, the effort has assisted many pets in returning to their families. During her career, she has won multiple awards including an Edward R. Murrow Best Newscast Award, various Missouri Broadcaster Best Anchor Awards, and an MBA for Social Media Star.
Aside from being a journalist, Moody is a true crime junkie who has been featured on ABC’s 20/20 and Oxygen’s Snapped talking about the Gypsy Blanchard case. Additionally, she appeared on 20/20’s episode about the Staudte family anti-freeze killings.

The couple has three dogs including a Great Pyrenees/Pit mix named Spaulding, a White Eskimo mix named Priscilla, and a Boxer/Beagle mix named Bootsy, as well as a cat named Kismet.
Spaulding weighs 120 pounds and got its name from the couple’s favorite movie, Caddyshack. The couple found Bootsy in their garage emaciated and injured in the fall of 2020 while Kismet was abandoned as a kitten behind the KY3 news station.
During her free time, Moody is an ardent swimmer and diver who is the most fulfilled when she’s near a pool or ocean. An amateur gardener, she messes around in her flower beds most nights in spring and summer.
