Liz Harrison Biography
Liz Harrison is an American Emmy-winning News Anchor/Reporter working for ABC30 Fresno since joining the station in 1982. She is co-anchor of Action News Live at Five and Action News Live at 11. Harrison also specializes in faith-based and community-related stories.
Harrison studied at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, and graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Broadcasting. Her formative years were spent in Baltimore, Maryland, and Brussels, Belgium.

Harrison started her broadcasting career at ABC30 in 1982 and over the years she has anchored just about every newscast at the station and done everything from consumer to medical reporting. She only confirmed that she caught the highly contagious illness. “So… I don’t know how…. but I have contracted Covid 19,” Liz wrote on her Facebook page while keeping the privacy of her post visible to the public. “Yes… it’s a real thing, people!”
Liz Harrison Retiring / Liz Harrison Leaving ABC30
Harrison is retiring in June after 38 years on the air. She made the announcement via Facebook live in May. Harrison said her last day on the air will be June 12. She is planning to open her own coaching business.
“I’m looking forward to the next chapter of my life,” Liz said in the video, which featured a filter giving her dark sunglasses and a fedora. She recorded the video from home, where she has been doing her newscasts remotely due to the coronavirus pandemic.
She said that her business will be related to coaching and teaching leadership and that she would reveal more as her last day on air approaches. “It’s been a great ride, people,” Liz said in the video. “You have been the best friends I have ever had.”
