Lloyd Sowers is an American two-time Emmy award-winning anchor who is working at FOX 13. He serves as the co-anchor of the FOX 13 News weekend editions. In addition, he joined the FOX 13 news team in 1987.
While working at FOX 13, he has covered a number of stories including hurricanes Charley, Elena, Opal, Hugo, and Andrew. In his career as a journalist, he has been honored with; two Emmy awards and the Florida Bar Association Award for reporting legal issues. In addition, he has also received awards such as the SPJ, UPI, and AP.
He attended West Virginia University where he earned his degree in Journalism where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a minor in Speech Communication and English. In addition, he has worked in a number of stations such as WINK-TV in Ft. WMSG in Oakland, Maryland, West Virginia, WCLG in Morgantown, Myers, WDTV in Clarksburg, and Florida before joining the FOX 13 news team.
