Mark Wilson Biography
Mark Wilson is an American Emmy award-winning anchor and reporter who is working at FOX 13. He serves as the weeknight anchor of the 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts. In addition, he joined the FOX 31 news team in 1997.
He has more than twenty-two years of experience traveling the world and sharing stories of the people of the Tampa Bay area, he is an Emmy award-winning reporter and anchor. The son of the former FOX 13 anchor John Wilson thus he learned from the best.
He attended Florida State University where he graduated proudly. He has worked at his station’s top-rated newscasts in Raleigh, North Carolina where he served as an anchor and while he was at NBC News, he served as a regional correspondent. His reports on Hurricane Katrin and Ground Zero in New York have been honored with awards and not long ago, he earned an Emmy for his reports on a string of deadly tornadoes in Alabama.
In addition, not long ago he was also awarded an Emmy for his report on the scene of the deadly Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando. In 2005, he has his outstanding assignments where he embedded with a group of U.S. Army Reservists during the height of the war in Iraq and in 2011 when he was invited to the White House for an exclusive interview with President Obama. Furthermore, he is active in a number of charity events such as The Wilson Family Foundation which is a non-profit that he began with his parents and brothers, Southeastern Guide Dogs, and the March of Dimes.
