For his work, Matthew was awarded various awards such as the Tennessee Associated Press awards, an Emmy Award, and a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award. He served the station for six months from December 2014 to November 2020.
Matthew previously worked in Abilene, Texas as a producer and host at KTAB-TV from October 2012 to August 2013. He also served as a multimedia journalist and weekend anchor from July 2013 to November 2014. Earlier, Torres worked for KTVT-TV in Dallas, Fort Worth where he served as an intern from June 2012 to August 2012. In addition to working for KTVT-TV, he also served as a director of content operations at NewsBreakerTV in Dallas.
Torres started his career in January 2011 working as a photographer and reporter at North Texas Television in Denton. After that, he accepted a position as a producer and director working there for two years and six months. Before that, Matthew spent three months working as an editorial assistant at HousingWire from June 2011 to August 2011. Apart from working as a journalist, Matthew worked for Elevate Life Church as a director from July 2009 to October 2012.
