Nina Pineda Biography

Nina Pineda is an American reporter working at WABC-TV where she serves as a consumer reporter. She joined WABC-TV in January 2010, after previously working at WTAE where she was a reporter.  

While working at WABC-TV, she covers a number of the largest stories of her generation in addition to being the face of 7 On Your Side. Her live reports have taken her from the center of a number of the worst natural disasters in the United States, including Superstorm Sandy, Hurricane Katrina, to  a number of the country’s most historic moments such as the attacks on 9/11 and the inauguration of President Barack. In addition, her reports on September 11, 2001, from underneath the World Trade Center Towers assisted her and her colleagues at WABC and ABC News earn the prestigious Peabody Award for Excellence in Journalism.

Pineda is active in the Tri-State charity community and she takes part in fundraisers for a number of Asian American and Women’s organizations such as the Women’s Rights and Information Center and the New York Asian Women’s Center. She also serves in the organizations Board of Trustee. Furthermore, she was a recipient of the CUNY Asian Role Model of the Year Award in 2013, and in 2014, the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs honored her of Consumer Affairs for her work in assisting victims of consumer fraud.

In addition, Bergen County’s Executive Director recognized her in 2016, for her work in assisting victims of crime in Bergen County. Over the years, she has made national appearances on; CNN, Live with Regis and Kelly, and Prime Time Live. She attended Syracuse University where she graduated summa cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and government/ communications.
